How fun is this?!?! I don’t think I’ve ever had the opportunity to write full blown scouting reports for the same player at two positions. A once in a lifetime opportunity, perhaps, but I digress. Last week, we discussed the strengths and weaknesses of Travis Hunter, the cornerback. This week, we’re digging into his tape at wide receiver.
He’s unequivocally one of the four best players in this draft. I’d say he’s top two, and you could argue mightily that he is the best player in the draft. If your philosophy is to just get the best players you possibly can to build your roster with, Hunter is absolutely in play for the Titans. I know everyone has been running wild with Brian Callahan’s comments that Hunter would probably start out as a corner and move to some packages on offense, using that to say “see! He’s a corner! There’s no way the Titans draft him!” I’d be a little cautious in using Combine press clips as gospel. The corner room is crowded, and sure, they could stand to get younger and healthier there. But, they need a wide receiver…like NOW…and he checks that box.
