The more I watch of this new-look Titans receiving corps, the more excited I get. I’ve said it before this offseason, but they really attacked the position by getting different flavors of wide receiver. Now, I don’t think any of these guys are going to grow into the team’s WR1 (though if my money was on anyone, it would be Chimere Dike *eyeball emoji*). But, they’ve assembled a well-rounded room that should develop into a deep unit if all goes according to plan. Someone in one of the podcast chats I spam said something pointed that has stuck with me….something along the lines of “this was a depth class so that the Titans can go get the guy next season.” I don’t necessarily believe in the “next season” idea when team-building in the sense that certain circumstances aren’t always planned for. In other words, you can’t just say you’ll go get the quarterback next season when a million things could change between now and then. What happens if you overachieve and end up out of position to get one of the top guys? It’s not a very prudent plan.
