This quarterback class is truly fascinating to me. The gem of the class coming into the season was considered by many to be Arch Manning. I wasn’t so confident that he’d even enter the 2026 NFL Draft. Then, he started the season on a bit of a slump. The conversation around him included guys like LaNorris Sellers, Garrett Nussmeier, and Cade Klubnik. Boy, how the times have changed.
As the season begins to wind down - which, as a side note, holy fuck does time fly - the quarterback race seems to be narrowing down to three guys: Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza, Oregon’s Dante Moore, and Alabama’s Ty Simpson. I still see the stray mock every now and then that has Nussmeier or Sellers in the first round. But, I think it’s safe to say that barring some hot streak from any member of the field, this race comes down to Mendoza, Moore, and Simpson. Whether any of these guys end up deserving to be selected at #1 overall remains to be seen. I’m going to need some convincing, but that’s neither here nor there.
