Draft: Caleb Downs Is a Bona Fide Blue Chipper

At the time of this writing, I’m comfortable in saying that Ohio State safety (read: Swiss Army knife) Caleb Downs is the only bona fide blue chipper I’ve found in this draft class so far. Now, that’s not to say that I won’t eventually get there with guys like Jeremiyah Love, Rueben Bain Jr., or Arvell Reese. But, I haven’t wrapped those evals up yet, and I still have fair questions about each. With Downs, I got nothin’ folks. The guy is good. At this point, I’m four games into the eval, and while I do have a couple of true nitpicks which I’ll get into, I’m struggling to find anything that makes me genuinely concerned about Downs’s prospects at the next level.
