What Happens After the Titans Draft Dallas Turner?
Will the world actually end if the Titans take Dallas Turner on Thursday night?
The clock’s approaching midnight last night. Aura and I are on our way back from Clarksville - we went up to see Leanne Morgan at F&M Bank Arena. It’s a really nice spot, and I catch myself saying we need to come spend a day in Clarksville to see what it has to offer. Someone in the car mentions an afterparty on Broadway. I cringe. Aura wants to go. I tell her she can go, but I’m getting in a Lyft and going home. She says she doesn’t want to hear me bitching about having to take a Lyft home for the rest of the weekend, so we skip the afterparty on Broadway.
On the way home, she practically calls me a coward and a bitch. I tell her, “I still have work to do tonight.” She looks at me like I’m crazy. I inform her that our guy G$ asked me a question for the mailbag this week that was far more suited for a full article on Stacking The Inbox, so I was going to type it up before bed. I explain that I told G$ and anyone else that read the SoBros Mailbag that I’d answer the question that day. “You guys just released your draft guide - can you not take a fucking win and rest for one night?” I remind her that I have integrity and a man’s word should mean something. We get home and I immediately lie down on the couch and fall asleep.
What have we learned here today? I’m a coward, a bitch, clearly not a man of my word, and my wife seems to be okay with that. Shameful. Disgraceful even.
Nonetheless, I’m here to answer this very question that G$ sent my way on Twitter yesterday morning:
“In a nutshell I want to hear you explain how if the Titans pick Turner at 7, …even trade down for Turner, what happens next where you walk away saying the Titans won. Tell the ppl. For context, I actually don’t hate that you are on the Turner train and it is a need. I just want to know how you would then address LT, WR, LB, CB, etc. to where after selecting Turner you still feel good about the draft and think the Titans are ready.”
