The Titans are absolutely miserable to watch and there is no end in sight. Unless Tannehill is out for the season, the Titans are stuck in football purgatory. I’ll have plenty of time to break down where the Titans are at and how they got here this week, but today, I wanted to focus on everything that went wrong in Sunday’s loss to the Titans.
The Titans Are Their Own Worst Enemy
This ties into a game filled with peculiar coaching decisions, but I think first and foremost everyone needs to understand that the Titans did themselves a major disservice by not going to London earlier in the week.
They literally created their own disadvantage, and what’s worse is that it was easily avoidable. The Bills showed you the path not to take last week. They were sluggish in the first half and suffered penalties and injuries all game. They had no life versus the Jaguars. Unlike the Titans, the Ravens understood this and decided to come early into London, and it showed.
The Titans, like the Bills, looked disjointed and hapless, which sometimes that is just who they are this season. However, you could possibly help that by flying to London early. Instead, you got guys landing with five hours of sleep on average and going straight to practice. Instead, you made sure your best player on defense sat next to the one guy he didn’t want to sit next to.
I don’t know who the blame falls on for this idea. Is it Vrabel driven? Is it an owner who didn’t want to pay for expenses? Is it both? Either way total failure on the part of those involved. You just make a team that struggles with having life and consistency even worse. It makes no sense.
