Over the next 12 days there are going to be a lot of arguments on X about the future of the QB position. Articles on what the team should, or needs to do coming out of the bye. A lot of takes floating around on radio shows and podcasts (yes, likely my own) about the future of the franchise.
That is not what today’s article is going to be about. Today, I wanted to share some data I have collected through the first six weeks. The usual suspects will be involved, EPA, Success Rate, etc. Also, I want to provide more context on certain narratives floating around about either positional units or players.
A Quick Aside about Game Clips
I think sometimes plays can be interpreted in different ways when viewed on video. Are you looking for something to confirm a bias? Are you posting a video but targeting the wrong player with your messaging? As we get further and further in the social media age, where everyone’s a film analyst, I have found myself questioning the motives of the poster of said video.
This is not to say that everyone is deceitful with their intentions. No, it is it to just throw something things for you to think about. When you see a post, do you only focus in on the poster’s intention? Or do you still look at the entire play. Do you watch it once, or do you watch it over and over? Do you assume this person is infallible, or on the flip-side is this person always wrong in your mind? Did the poster make this video just for clicks? Are they showing the good and the bad?
Just things to think about. Question everything.
