I have thoroughly enjoyed the freshness of the Tim Kelly scheme here in Nashville. It looks different and he has schemed up several successful plays, although not all have been executed correctly by the quarterback.
I don’t want to put a damper on the parade but there is an issue with the offense that Kelly or the analytics department needs to recognize and fix and fix quickly. That issue stems from the offense on second downs.
Titans Love Third Downs
They really don’t love them, but they have fallen victim to Stockholm Syndrome and because they’ve been held captive by third downs, they don’t know it’s bad for them.
