Oddly enough, James Williams is someone that I had on my radar starting with the Senior Bowl. Don’t get me wrong, he never really stood out during practices or the game, but what was interesting about him was that the NFL wanted to see him at linebacker. I didn’t think anything of it, until we got home one night and found out he was a safety in Miami. So, the fact the NFL essentially viewed him as a linebacker makes you see his tape in a whole different light and when you view it through that lens it makes perfect sense. James Williams is a linebacker.

The Titans double dipped at linebacker in the draft with Cedric Gray and James Williams and added free agent Kenneth Murray. At this moment, they feel this room is sufficient enough at the spot to not bring in anyone else of note. Will that change? Time will tell, but Williams provides you upside, versatility, and a day one starter on special teams.
