Stoney Sees: Blade (1998)

Alright, y'all wanna know every single gripe I have with this film? The gloves are off.

Originally written in 2023, but shared here since this conversation simply will not die and y’all will not leave me alone about it:

I’m breaking my rule for this one. I’ve technically seen this once before, but the first time I watched it was just a few short years ago. So, I went into this film with no preconceived nostalgic attachment to it. I never saw it in 1998 despite my friends watching it and claiming it to be among the best movies of all time (we were 12, okay?). But, I wrote about this movie for a very specific reason. See…I said it sucked. I was not impressed for many a reason. X grilled me for it. People called me an idiot. And so, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to re-watch this thing and take notes to document exactly why I said this movie fell completely flat. That’s what I’m here to do today.
