Stock Watch: LSU Pass Rushers
The Tigers had a hell of a duo on the defensive line between Sai'vion Jones and Bradyn Swinson.
Regardless of how we feel about Brian Kelly, one thing I’ll give him credit for is the hiring of Kevin Peoples as EDGE coach in January of 2024. His work in the development of this duo of rowdy pass rushers, Sai’vion Jones and Bradyn Swinson, shouldn’t go unnoticed. Lest we forget, Peoples helped turn Darius Robinson into a first round pick during his tenure at Missouri, too. The man has done tremendous work at LSU.
Swinson was voted Second Team All-SEC with 8.5 sacks and 13 tackles for loss - he parlayed that into an invite to the East-West Shrine Bowl. Jones had 4.5 sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss of his own, an up tick in production from 2023. He was down in Mobile for the Senior Bowl, where I first noticed him. What’s more interesting is how the duo works in conjunction with one another. On one side of the formation, you have the pure pass rush of Swinson. On the other, you’re getting into a bare knuckle bar fight with Jones. You better be ready for whatever they throw at you.
