Senior Bowl Comps: The 49ers Players
Since this is a Senior Bowl Article, I need to plug my sponsor: Lyons Ford. They’re a fantastic and award-winning Ford dealership down in Lewisburg, TN, that will go to the ends of the earth to find you the car you want, and all the discounts you deserve. Give them a chance and you will walk away a happy driver. Drive a little, to save a lot down at Lyons Ford.
Yesterday, I looked at the words and actions from Ran Carthon that could give us a sneak peek into what to expect from the Titans and their draft process and how it involves the Senior Bowl.
If you were expecting some big Tim Kelly offensive staff outlook piece, you must be new here! In which case, scroll down a little bit and hit subscribe. If you are already subscribed and read the piece from yesterday, you know we are going to get into some player comps from the Senior Bowl that tie into the 49ers history with the Senior Bowls.
However, if you want some insight into Tim Kelly and Charles London, I got you covered. We are down to $0.21 per paid article. The one-month anniversary is next Monday, so by then that number will be lower. What are you waiting for? Here are some things I have written for this site and others regarding the new offensive staff:
And there is so much more in the archives and a lot more to come! I now have 19 paid articles. Most web sites that charge you $2-$3 more a month are not coming close to providing the same football content I am putting out, and it’s just going to continue. The staff is filled up, so now we can turn our attention to what these moves mean, how they impact personnel, and more offseason topics.

Some Not-So-Perfect Comps
Here are the players that are currently on the 49ers roster, that were from the Senior Bowl, that also fit positions of need for the Titans:
George Kittle
Deebo Samuel
Brandon Aiyuk
Elijah Mitchell
Aaron Banks
Fred Warner
Dre Greenlaw
Now you’re looking at this list and thinking probably multiple things. Let me clarify, I am not trying to replace Treylon Burks, Chig Okonkwo, or Derrick Henry, I am trying to improve the talent that surrounds those guys. The wide receiver room is truly only one NFL wide receiver deep, and Burks can’t be relied on to stay healthy. So, this team needs many options available to them.
The team has Monty Rice, Chance Campbell, and scrubs as their linebackers. Sure, Long is great, but he also may be super expensive, and he can’t stay healthy. There are options here that Vrabel can develop into a David Long type, after all he was a 6th round pick.
I am nothing if not both authentic and honest in my content. So, before I get into these player comps, I want to make a few things clear:
I have not watched film on all of these players
I am not some perfect film or draft guru, these are opinions, not facts
These are based on what I saw down at Mobile, what I’ve seen from the NFL players, and their height/weight from their year entering the draft
These will likely change over the course of watching film and the combine
