Ran Carthon & The Senior Bowl
Since this is a Senior Bowl Article, I need to plug my sponsor: Lyons Ford. They’re a fantastic and award winning Ford dealership down in Lewisburg, TN, that will goto the ends of the earth to find you the car you want, and all the discounts you deserve. Give them a chance and you will walk away a happy driver. Drive a little, to save a lot down at Lyons Ford.
I think there are two main ways you can learn a lot about someone’s tendencies in the NFL world. You can actively listen to their words, and then look at their actions. Sometimes in the NFL looking into the past is also a good predictor of what could happen in the future.
Right now, the Tennessee Titans are mired in uncertainty. They have so many questions they need to answer, and we know very little from the outside looking in. So, with the Senior Bowl now over, can we maybe start to gain some clarity or insight with how the Titans may approach the draft in the Ran Carthon era? Probably so.
To do this responsibly I am going to take a two-tiered approach to looking at what will possibly be Carthon’s approach with the Senior Bowl. I think looking at the history of the 49ers and the way their draft has intertwined with the Senior Bowl is a good start. That’s your insight to the actions.
Then there were some comments by Carthon in an interview with Mike Keith that can give us some insight as well. So, right there is listening to someone’s words. I think by combining those things, we can maybe get a short list of prospects that may be of interest to them.
I need to do some shameless self-promotion real quick for all you free readers. We are down to $0.22 per paid article. The one-month anniversary is next Monday, so by then that number will be lower. What are you waiting for? Here are some things you’re missing out on:
And so much more! I now have 18 paid articles. Most web sites that charge you $2-$3 more a month are not coming close to providing the same football content I am putting out, and it’s just going to continue. In fact, today I am watching four games each of four different QB prospects in preparation for articles in a few weeks. I am playing chess with my content.

What Ran Carthon’s Words Tell Us
At Mike Vrabel’s end of season press conference he let a lot of frustration out about the 2022 season. He also gave us a glimpse into some of the changes he’s looking to make in terms of the type of players he wants: smart, tough, and fast.
"The same thing I've always wanted it to be – smart, tough, and fast," Vrabel said. "(I want it to be) physical. I still think there is a degree of physicality that is required in this game at every level. Fundamentally sound, play with technique. But we have to get faster. We have to be a faster football team. Rarely are we the fastest team out there."
"You want the fastest roster that you can (have)," Vrabel said. "You want a fast everybody – you want your d-line to be able to run, you want your corners to be able to run, receivers. It's a fast game, so that's what you're trying to do all the time – find as fast a players that can play football as possible."
Everyone pretty much remembers those comments. They were exciting to hear. Finally, the Titans players won’t look like they’re running in quicksand. While, yes, the Titans will probably start drafting faster guys from an athletic standpoint, what if the vast majority of us misinterpreted what he was saying.
