Guys to Watch: Colts at Titans, 10/13/24
We're digging into the matchups between the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans ahead of Sunday's showdown at Nissan Stadium.
I can’t believe it’s already mid-October. I feel like we were just breaking down preseason games last week, but I digress. I didn’t think this bye period was ever going to end…guess that’s the good thing about an early bye. We won’t have to worry about another Sunday off again this season! On Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts head to Nashville for a date with the Tennessee Titans at high noon. After opening at Titans -1.5, the line has shifted to Colts -1. Maybe more bettors got around to watching Titans tape.
The Colts are pretty banged up. At least, they’re dealing with some injuries in key spots, namely their sophomore quarterback Anthony Richardson and their stud running back Jonathan Taylor, who are both listed as questionable at the time I’m writing this article (Ryan Kelly, Kenny Moore, and Kwity Paye are also listed as questionable while Will Fries has hit IR). After starting the year 0-2, the Colts picked up wins over the Bears and Steelers, before dropping to 2-3 against the previously winless Jags last week. At 2-3, they look like underachievers.
But, I’d caution any Titans fan thinking that this game should be a pushover for the Titans. When you dig into the identity of who this Colts team, they’re a little tougher than what the Titans last played in the Dolphins. They’re reeling a bit right now due to injuries, and they certainly have their flaws, but the matchups don’t line up as well for them as they did against the Dolphins. The edge they have is in the extra week of rest and the extra time to prepare for the Colts.
