Game Balls: Titans Piss Down Their Leg in Chicago
Let's look for some silver linings in how the Titans completely collapsed in Chicago, losing 24-17 to the Bears.
What a terrible gut-punching way to lose a football game. It was the best of times at 17-0, and then it was the worst of times as the Titans allowed the Bears to rattle off 24 unanswered points to win 24-17. A Tale of Two Halves, as Charles Dickens once wrote (I think). It was awful.
While the optimist in me does want to point out that we thought the Bears would be pretty good, that this isn’t necessarily losing to a worse opponent, and that there are 16 games left in the season, I honestly don’t want to think about any of that positive shit right now. Every game counts in this league, and this is undoubtedly one that the Titans would like to have back. It’s giving ‘2022 season opening loss to the Giants’ vibes, and we were bringing that game up in January of 2023 when one more win would’ve sent the Titans to the playoffs. I digress.
