Game Balls: Colts Gut Punch Titans, 20-17

Well, that game sucked.

I don’t know if you guys picked up on it, or if I stated it clearly enough on Football & Other F Words and The Hot Read Podcast last week, but I just had a bad gut feeling about this game. It came from two places. One, I don’t think it mattered if the Titans won or lost the game unless they just came out guns-a-blazin’ and answered every question we had about this team. The schedule is a shit show from here on. Nothing they’ve shown us so far this season should’ve inspired confidence. We had gotten to the delusional point where we were basically saying, “if they can just come out and be a completely different team from what they are, they’ll be alright!” Two, this Colts team felt schematically capable of handling this Titans team if they showed up and made the same mistakes they’ve been making.
