Game Balls: Bills Deflate the Titans, 34-10

From an operational standpoint, the Titans offense looked much more efficient in the first half than we’ve seen all season long. There, we got a look at what this unit could be. Guys were open. The team was getting to the line of scrimmage without worrying about the play clock running out. They were running the ball effectively. Mason Rudolph was essentially playing point guard, and it was much smoother experience than before. I keep coming back to this statement that you’ve heard me make dozens of times on Football & Other F Words and The Hot Read Podcast this season: you can see how and why this offense works in flashes.
But, the second half woes continued in this game. The Bills rattled off 34 unanswered points while the Titans could barely gain a yard. The defense looked tired, eventually giving up more backbreaking plays, and that was that. At this point, it’s a pattern. It’s happened enough this season for us to believe the writing on the wall - it’s who this team is. This just looks like a listless football team that doesn’t believe in itself right now.
