Film Friday: Wrapping Up Peter Skoronski's Rookie Season
Let's break down Peter Skoronski's game against the Jaguars.
It’s been a hell of a week for Titans fans. Mike Vrabel this. Ran Carthon that. Amy Adams Strunk said WHAT? It’s been like a soap opera. So, for this week’s Film Friday, I thought we’d take a break from that and go full circle on the Peter Skoronski evaluation. To start, I want to look back at the key words from my initial evaluation of Big Meat Pete from last summer after popping on all of the Northwestern tape I could get my hands on. Then, we’re going to look at where he was when I checked in on him back on November 3rd for Stacking The Inbox. And, we’ll wrap up with my notes on the Jags game and ultimately, how I feel about the pick in retrospect.
Initial eval: fundamentally and technically sound, anchors and wins in tests of strength, excellent at diagnosing pressure and tracking stunts, not as explosive as others say, struggles with lateral quickness from rangy pass rushers.
November 3rd update: still see some whiffs vs. twitchy pass rushers, gets driven back more in the NFL than college, “he’s a stonewall, not a hammer”, good leg drive, tracking stunts and diagnosing pressure.
