Is it safe to say that Reggie Roberson Jr. has taken the reins as the official unofficial training camp darling of 2023 for the Tennessee Titans? I’ll admit that when I looked at this roster a few weeks ago, I would’ve bet money that it was going to be one of the undrafted guys - Kearis Jackson, Tre’Shaun Harrison, etc. - that would rise up and draw the lust of the Titans fan base. Instead, it seems like Roberson has claimed his stake as that dude after stringing together a series of solid performances throughout training camp.

Why do we always fall in love with a receiver at this time of year? Well, it’s usually because the Titans need some depth, and there’s an opportunity for a young man to make a name for his self. Someone usually looks great in the pads, and we fill in the gaps with our imaginations. This year is no different, as we’re already off to the races with Roberson. I don’t know how often the Titans will look to WR6 or WR7 in 2023, but that position is far from locked up. Personally, I’m jacked out of my gourd to see how this race plays out.

So, how did we get here with Roberson? Where is all of this talent that’s been on display coming from? Well, if you look back at how he got to the NFL, you’ll find that the talent was always there. It’s just been a matter of health for the guy. He suffered a foot injury in 2019 that ended his season. He tore his ACL in 2020. He managed a full campaign in 2021, but it wasn’t prolific enough to get him drafted. I read over several of Roberson’s scouting reports, and let me save you guys the trouble and sum it up in a single sentence: he has solid deep threat potential and separation skills if he can just get healthy and stay healthy.
