I was really pounding the table for Puka Nacua at this time last year. Honestly, that’s a rare hit. That’s like throwing a perfect game in baseball. But, it was inevitable - people have been asking me for months now who this year’s Puka Nacua is. The truth is I don’t know that I feel as strongly about anyone in this class as I did with Nacua last year. I mean, I had some conviction there. I went on the internet and said he could be a WR1 for a team. I don’t know that that guy is going to be there on Day 3.
But, the more I study and the more I think about it, I think the thing that I really latched onto with Nacua was his willingness to do whatever it took to make a play. He played the game with fire. As I’ve wrapped up my evals on receivers at this point, the closest I’ve come to finding that same fire in a player is with Virginia’s Malik Washington.
