Up until last week, I haven’t really talked about or thought about a DeAndre Hopkins extension. I think it is because I am very apathetic about the whole thing and often times when I am apathetic about something, I push it aside and find stuff that interests me. Yet, as the weeks go on, and more and more people talk about it, I find myself becoming less apathetic. Not about the actual act of extending him, but about the coverage.
You know me, I am a stickler for contract talk, and as that part of NFL coverage has grown in this fan base, I see more people jump in and throw out numbers and potential contracts all willy-nilly without really doing the research. It is more of an annoyance of mine than anything else. I think there is a lot of context that needs to go into these projections, if you are wanting to be smart about it. If you’re wanting to just have a quick click or take, then by all means, be wrong.
So, today, we are going to look at the aspects of a DeAndre Hopkins contract and as I go through this, we will discover together if I find myself becoming less apathetic about whether or not they should extend him.
