Bye Week Blues: Dudes the Titans Can Build Around
Who on the roster today could become a cornerstone in the future?
Congratulations to the Tennessee Titans. You’ve done the impossible. You’ve broken the spirit and the will of even your staunchest supporter. Ever the optimist, I felt as though this team had a shot in 2023. I even believed that all the way up until last Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. But, even I have seen enough. 2-4 was always on the table, and most of us thought if they could navigate this six-game stretch to start the season and end up at 2-4, they’d still have a shot with an easier schedule on the other side of the bye.
But, it’s the way that this Titans team has looked at 2-4 that is particularly discouraging. Now, I should specify here - this sounds like I’m being overly dramatic and depressing. Maybe I’m just a glutton for punishment, but I’m still going to be a fan of this team. I’m not abandoning our community here. It’s just time to give up the ghost: 2023 is fucked. So, in my head, I’ve already ripped the band-aid off and started the fire sale. In doing that, my mind wandered from what they could get for their aging vets to who they actually have on the roster to potentially build around. From there, it led me to this here column on the banner publication known as Stacking The Inbox.
