What do we know about Ryan Tannehill? Was Week One the liar we believed? Who stepped up and who improved? All of this in today’s in-depth game review.
The Replacements
Remember:
David Long vs Azeez Al-Shaair
Daniel Brunskill vs Nate Davis
Arden Key vs Bud Dupree
George Fant vs Chris Hubbard
2022 Taylor Lewan/Dennis Daley vs 2023 Andre Dillard
Analysis: The Dolphins increased David Long’s usage and they sent him on a lot of pass rushes. We have yet to see Azeez Al-Shaiir be utilized in that regard. Is it because they don’t have confidence in his running mate? Very likely.
In fact, for the second week in a row, the Titans only had Jack Gibbens and Al-Shaiir play any defensive snaps out of the inside linebacker rotation.
Analysis: Nate Davis was out with injury and personal reasons to attend. Brunskill put together another solid effort, but did have a dip in his run blocking. Brunskill living up to the hype that I placed on him.
Analysis: Arden Key took a big step backwards but no where nearly as bad as Bud Dupree in Atlanta. Key needs to make his presence felt more consistently in the coming weeks versus Watson, Burrow, and Lamar. He can’t be inconsistent.
Analysis: Hubbard > Fant. Weep, ya nerds.
Analysis: The 2022 Titans left tackles jumped really close to Dillard through two games. Mainly due to the introduction of Dennis Daley to the Titans offensive line. Next week look for Daley to surpass Dillard in all the wrong ways.
More on the offensive line later.
