2025 Draft Notebook: Catching Up on the OL Class
Let's get some more tape evals of Will Campbell and Kelvin Banks in along with a first look at Emery Jones Jr. and catch-ups on James Pearce Jr. and Quinn Ewers.
I haven’t watched any 2024 tape on this offensive line class until now. The bulk of my evals have been on 2023 tape. I wasn’t as high on Will Campbell or Kelvin Banks as other draft analysts out there, so I was absolutely floored to see some folks calling Banks OT1 in this class. That didn’t line up with my impression of him. I do figure Campbell will be the big dog in this year’s class, and I really wanted to watch his teammate Emery Jones Jr. So, it felt like this was a great spot to catch up on the top of the o-line class.
I’ve also been super interested in the career trajectory of James Pearce Jr.. I liked his tape from the Iowa game in 2023, where he looked like a raw pass rusher, but the athleticism jumped off the screen. 2024 was bound to be key to his development, but so far this season, he hasn’t really seemed to…y’know…develop. Since I was catching up on other guys I’d already started evaluating, I thought, “why not get in another game of Pearce too?” And, Quinn Ewers? Well, that was just stacking tape since I was watching the Texas offense for Kelvin Banks anyway. Let’s get to it - another 2025 Draft Notebook is here!
