2024 Senior Bowl Preview: Wide Receiver
The larger wide receiver class is loaded in the 2024 NFL Draft, and the Senior Bowl roster is reflective of that.
Note from Zach: With the timing of the Brian Callahan hire and Senior Bowl coinciding, you will be getting a few days in a row with multiple articles. We have three Senior Bowl preview articles starting today, and Zach/Tre will be talking Titans News and Analysis.
The Senior Bowl has become a treasure trove of wide receivers. At this point, if you’re not paying attention to it, you’re going to be behind on the next big thing. That might sound lofty, but look at the game’s track record - Deebo Samuel…Cooper Kupp…Puka Nacua. As the position becomes more and more important to the game, we’re seeing that talent trickle up from college offenses to the NFL. The talent on display in Mobile is reflective of that. Hell, look at the Green Bay Packers.
Their talented young receiving corps features Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton, all of whom were standouts at the Senior Bowl. That’s not even counting Grant DuBose, who is on the Packers practice squad! But, you really see the wide receiver pipeline this game creates by expanding your scope a bit - every team that played this past weekend in the divisional round had at least one receiver that showed out at the Senior Bowl at one point in the past. Houston has three if you count the injured Tank Dell alongside Nico Collins and Xavier Hutchinson. Baltimore has Tylan Wallace. Tampa Bay has Trey Palmer. Detroit has Josh Reynolds. Buffalo has Khalil Shakir. And, Kansas City has Rashee Rice. This isn’t just a group of nobodies - these are real contributors and play-makers alike.
